Engagement Rings in Orange County California
Finding the Perfect Engagement Ring To Buy
If you are in California and have recently decided it’s time to get engaged to your significant other, congratulations! Now it’s time to go buy the perfect engagement ring! With Mimi’s Jewelry, we’ll be helping you out with your engagement ring shopping.
From choosing the right type of engagement ring from the diamond shape, type of metals, ring settings, or a custom engagement ring.
Diamond Engagement Rings
The next thing you will want to do is decide on a diamond shape that your significant other favors. If you have an idea or are getting confused with all the diamonds available, let us know the preferences and we can help you decide and will greatly narrow down the rings to view as the potential ones.
Gold Or White Gold Engagement Rings?
Engagement rings can be selected with a metal band made of yellow, white or rose gold, or platinum for a few extra dollars. If you prefer the silvery color but don’t want to shell out a lot more money for a ring with a platinum band, white gold is a great alternative. Rose gold has also grown very popular due to its uniqueness and flashy color.
If you already know your significant other’s preference for metal jewelry, you’re in good shape. Does she wear a lot of silver? Or is she more interested in yellow gold? If you already know the answer to those questions, you should immediately know what metal to select for the band of her engagement ring.
Go With A Certified Diamond
One of the most critical aspects of an engagement ring is to ensure that the diamond is certified. Certified means that the stone comes from an accredited laboratory like the American Gem Society or the Gemological Institute of America. These are diamonds that have the highest quality grades.
Here at Mimi’s Jewelry, we are committed to giving you the best diamond engagement rings here in Orange County.

Our Client’s Love Us!
This place is just awesome. I went last Saturday and talked to Mimi about making a ring for my husband and doing some work on my wedding ring. They did an amazing job on both rings. Prices were very reasonable and the quality of the work was outstanding. Everyone who works there is helpful and nice.
I picked up my ring today and WOW- I was completely blown away and speechless! I can't stop looking at my ring. It is absolutely perfect. I went to David to "upgrade" the center diamond on my wedding ring for our 25th anniversary. He exceeded all of my expectations. First, we scheduled a meeting so I could tell him exactly what I was looking for. David is extremely knowledgeable and professional, and he is also friendly and easy to talk to. His communication was excellent throughout the process. He is accessible through phone, email and text. I felt very safe and trusted him with my wedding ring. On the day of pick up, I was emailed an appraisal with all the proper certifications which I was able to send to our insurance for immediate coverage. Everything was seamless throughout this whole process and I could not be happier!!
The first time I visited this establishment I noticed how personable the owner and staff were to the customers who came in. The owner actually addressed each customer by name. He actually knew each person's name as they walked in. Aside from doing fabulous work in terms of design, making and cleaning my jewelry, which would be expected, their customer service goes beyond what I'd ever expect. I am now one of those customers who walks in and is addressed by my name. It feels like home. Thank you to all of your staff who has created an environment that makes me want to come back and refer others to your business. Keep up the great work.
I was referred to Mimi's from a family member and I am so thankful for the referral. First time in I was greeted and treated with so much respect. David was amazing and I requested a custom piece. He took the time to go over what I wanted and he worked up a rendering. The piece would take about a month to make. I received constant updates through out the process. When I got the piece, I was blown away. Great work. Great quality. Great prices. Great customer service. Great place that I will be going from now on for any jewelry needs.
I'm so pleased with the customer service and overall results from Mimi's Jewelry! I was referred to Mimi's by my jeweler out in PA; my husband got my wedding set from her but we live in Orange County. I needed to get my wedding set professionally cleaned and I hoped Jen could point me in the right direction. I'm so happy she did! David and his team are absolutely wonderful! They were kind, patient, and so helpful! My wedding set looks brand new again!
I am also interested in making a jewelry purchase soon and Mimi's will be my first (and hopefully only) stop. Thank you so much!
We were looking for a trusted local jeweler and everyone in the community recommended Mimi's. Sure enough, the service was fantastic. They have a good selection of diamond and gemstone pieces in the store, but they also design their own custom pieces.
Dropped off one pearl earring just to get a simple back replacement. Good thing I kept the other pearl earring in my possession. I trusted this jewelry place and did not throughly micro inspect my pearl. When I got home I noticed that it was a completely different pearl than the one I gave them plus it had scratches and dents on it. Please inspect your jewelry. This people keep yours and give you back a shitty replacement. Now I need to make the drive and go back to that shop.
David is truly an artist!! I went to him because my wedding rings were starting to change shape due to the bands being platinum, which is very soft and malleable. He immediately came up with a design and drew it out right in front of me. I fell in love with it immediately!! He estimated 4-6 weeks to get it back due to how busy he has been, and he got it back to me almost 4 weeks to the day!! The diamonds sparkled as if they were brand new, and I have been married for 11 years!! He is so honest and knowledgeable, he is a master of his craft! I highly recommend Mimi's as it is a local family owned business and David will not disappoint!!
We got our ring appraised here and David was not only professional but also personal and knowledgeable. Appears to be really honest which is critical in any business but especially in the jewelry business when things and value could be more subjective.
He also does a lot for the community. I always see him volunteer or involved with school events. If you have any jewelry needs then this is your place.
Well, 203 reviews, all 5 star. Honestly I don't even know why I am writing this LOL! I have been trusting Mimi's for some odd small resizing and repairs for the last ten years or so. I love that this is a family run family owned business and the team is still here for so long. That kind of employee tenure says a lot. The storefront is beautiful and easily accessible, and the store is well-lit and inviting with a dazzling display of items which range from the dainty to the majestic. So there's something for everyone. But I moved out of California to Idaho and I found my way back to California and commissioned the technicians at Mimi's to remake my engagement ring setting. I was given a very reasonable fee and turnover time, along with overnight fedex service to my home. The CAD/CAM draft sent to me was spot on accurate and proportional, and they even sent me some stunning photography of their finished work I can include in the updated insurance paperwork. I think buying their jewelry is a wonderful experience, but coming to them for a custom job requires special attention and expertise. I wanted to merge a wedding band and engagement ring made with all princess cut stones and I had a really beautiful, really quite unique, result that I am so happy with and that I love to look at on my hand. It is also very comfortable and effortless to wear now whereas the former set up not as much, and that was really one of my top priorities. If I am willing to travel over 2,000 miles to visit family and wait to schedule this work done here, then this review is legit!! If you love jewelry, if you have legacy jewelry, or want to create custom pieces, repair or modify anything, you can trust Mimi's team to help your vision come true. I actually have two people who I have only ever entrusted with my jewelry, and one was a patient of mine whose family I treated - and once I believe she retired, Mimi's. Having a personal relationship with a jeweler is important, I think, because so often jewelry has significant sentimental value.
I have debated for years about posting a review about this. It still bothers me to this day. I bought a men's gold ring from the original owner, Mimi. She was very kind and personable with my kid. I later noticed an imperfection in one of the diamonds to which she simply said well its not that high of a quality. I came back and got an ok deal on an 18k yellow gold band, then I met Her son, David. He was very polite and professional. We then started talking about watches and he observed my Tudor watch I was wearing. Still Unsatisfied with my diamond quality, He mentioned that he also buys watches and would make it up to me. After a brief discussion he agrees to buy my Tudor watch for $2000 (it was worth 3800 at the time). I drive 30 mins home to get him the box and papers and 30 mins back to finish our deal. After I return Out of nowhere, He says he can't buy my Tudor watch. I asked him why and he simply said, it's not what we're looking for right now. I was appalled at the lack of integrity and cavalier attitude of not honoring his word. He then said "well it's not worth the risk, it won't sell well." I told him I couldn't believe he was going back on his word to which he said "sorry, you want gas money?" This is simply not good business. I spoke to Mimi later and she told me how sorry she was but that she has to support her son even when he's wrong. Even she was shocked he went back on his word. To this day I'm stuck with that ring with the bad diamond. Hopefully everyone else has better luck with them.
